Therese Daniels, MA, LPC (#PC006601), is a licensed professional counselor dedicated to helping children, teens, and adults navigate life’s challenges. At Roots to Branches Soul Studio in Ardmore, PA, she provides compassionate therapy for anxiety, depression, and life transitions. Background and journey

Therese’s passion for helping others began during her undergraduate studies at Villanova University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services with a minor in Psychology. She went on to complete her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Immaculata University. Early in her career, Therese gained extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and families through internships and human services roles. She earned her professional counseling license from the state of PA in 2012 and has run her own private practice in varying locations since 2016. During this time, she expanded her practice to include adults, couples, and group therapy, creating a holistic approach to mental health that addresses the needs of all ages. Therese has always felt a deep connection with nature and the outdoors, and the benefits have been evident to her on a personal level. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, she chose to combine her passions for nature and supporting others with her therapeutic experience. She obtained her Certification in Nature-Informed Therapy from the nationally recognized Center for Nature-Informed Therapy, located in Maryland, in 2022 and has since been weaving it into her practice and offerings.

 

With over two decades of experience in counseling, Therese has worked with individuals facing anxiety, depression, identity challenges, coping struggles, and major life transitions. Her professional philosophy centers on collaboration: she works closely with each client to identify areas of concern and develops strategies tailored to their unique needs.

Anxiety and depression therapy

Anxiety and depression are common emotional challenges that can affect children, teens, and adults alike. These conditions can appear separately or together and often stem from life circumstances or natural brain chemistry. Therese uses CBT, DBT, ACT, and Mindfulness techniques to help clients recognize and challenge distorted thinking patterns, develop healthy coping strategies, and improve emotional regulation. Therese incorporates mindfulness practices that engage the senses—sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell—helping clients reconnect with themselves and their surroundings.

 

Nature Therapy is another key component of Therese’s approach. Spending time outdoors can promote emotional and physical well-being, offering a natural way to alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression. For clients in Ardmore and the surrounding Main Line towns, Therese offers Walk and Talk Therapy sessions at the Nature Trail at Haverford College Arboretum, just a few blocks from the studio in Ardmore, and hosts weekly group walks, combining therapeutic techniques with the restorative power of nature.
