Where mindfulness and creativity meet

At Roots to Branches Soul Studio in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, healing and growth take many forms. Sometimes it’s stillness, sometimes it’s movement, and often, it’s community. Through mindfulness, nature, and creativity, the studio offers experiences that help people of all ages reconnect with themselves and the world around them.
Our workshops and retreats are designed to nurture awareness, reflection, and connection, both within and with others. Whether your child is discovering how to slow down and notice the world through play and art, or you’re seeking a space to release, restore, and renew, these experiences invite you to pause and return to presence.
Each program, whether held indoors or outdoors, weaves together the same guiding principles: move with intention, connect with nature, and create with heart.
Mindful moments: creative mindfulness workshops for kids
Exploring, creating, and growing, one mindful moment at a time.
The Mindful Moments workshops at Roots to Branches Soul Studio invite children to explore mindfulness through movement, nature, and art. Designed and led by Therese Daniels, LPC, CNIT, a certified children’s yoga instructor, these workshops blend playfulness and purpose to help kids learn what it means to be present in the moment.
Each Mindful Moments session includes a variety of engaging, age-appropriate activities, movement, exploration, and creativity that teach mindfulness in simple, tangible ways.
A typical workshop includes:
-
A welcoming icebreaker or introduction to help children connect and feel comfortable.
-
A 30-minute yoga session, designed to build body awareness, calm energy, and focus.
-
Nature exploration and gathering time, where kids learn to observe the natural world with curiosity and respect.
-
An arts and crafts project, using natural materials collected during the exploration to create something beautiful and meaningful.
-
Small breaks and snacks, because rest and nourishment are also part of mindfulness.
Each workshop centers around a seasonal or thematic focus, from “Colors of Summer” to “Sea Creatures” or “Polar Bear Party.” These rotating themes keep the program fresh, inspiring, and connected to the rhythms of the world around us.
But Mindful Moments isn’t just about yoga or crafts. It’s about teaching children how to notice what’s happening in their bodies, hearts, and minds. Through gentle movement, sensory exploration, and creativity, they learn to slow down, breathe, and appreciate the moment they’re in.

A space to learn mindfulness through joy
Therese’s background in therapy and her deep understanding of child development shape every element of Mindful Moments. The workshops are designed to help children build emotional regulation, concentration, and confidence, all while having fun.
Children discover that mindfulness doesn’t mean sitting still; it means paying attention with kindness. When they stretch, they notice how their bodies feel. When they create, they notice texture and color. When they walk through nature, they notice the sounds, scents, and sensations around them.
These small moments of awareness help children cultivate resilience and calm, skills that will support them far beyond the studio.
Mindful Moments workshops are open to children ages 3–10 and are held in small groups of 10-12 participants to ensure each child feels seen and supported. Parents can rest assured that every session combines movement, creativity, and emotional learning in a safe, encouraging environment.

Soulful sessions: nature-inspired retreats and workshops for adults
Restoring, releasing, and reconnecting, one soulful session at a time.
The Soulful Sessions at Roots to Branches Soul Studio invite adults to step out of their daily routines and into experiences that nurture self-awareness and renewal. These small-group workshops and mini retreats are designed to help participants slow down, reflect, and reconnect with their sense of purpose and peace.
Led by Therese Daniels, LPC, CNIT, and occasionally joined by guest facilitators such as yoga instructors or sound healing practitioners, Soulful Sessions offer a balance of movement, guided reflection, and creative exploration.
Each session is thoughtfully curated around a specific theme. Some are seasonal, such as “Releasing in the Fall”, “Restoration in the Winter”, “Growth in the Spring”, and “Softness in the Summer”, while others explore timeless topics like “Metaphors in Nature” or “Grief and Renewal” or “Meaningful Music.

A flow of mindfulness and reflection
A typical Soulful Session includes several phases that flow naturally together, creating an immersive and nurturing experience:
-
A gentle welcome and introduction, allowing participants to settle in, connect, and set intentions.
-
Guided discussion and journaling time, offering space for personal reflection on the session’s theme.
-
Movement practice, which might include gentle yoga (led by a guest instructor), progressive muscle relaxation, dance, or emotional freedom technique (EFT, also known as tapping).
-
A mindful walk or guided reflection in nature, connecting the inner experience with the outer world.
-
Creative or symbolic activity, often incorporating natural elements or ritual-inspired reflection, such as writing what you wish to release on a fallen leaf and letting it flow downstream.
-
Closing circle, where participants gather to share, reflect, and honor their experiences before returning to daily life.
These sessions are not about perfection or performance. They’re about presence, being fully here, in your body and heart, surrounded by others on their own journeys of growth.

Themes rooted in nature’s rhythm
Nature is a quiet teacher throughout Soulful Sessions. The falling leaves in autumn become a metaphor for letting go. Winter’s stillness offers lessons in rest and reflection. Spring invites new growth, and summer reminds us to soften into joy.
Therese draws on these natural rhythms to guide each session, blending mindful discussion with experiential learning. The result is a restorative experience that feels both grounding and inspiring.
Each workshop is intentionally small, creating an atmosphere where participants can feel comfortable sharing and connecting. There’s room for laughter, quiet, and everything in between.

Mindfulness for every season of life
Whether you join a Mindful Moments workshop for your child or a Soulful Session retreat for yourself, each experience at Roots to Branches Soul Studio invites you to explore mindfulness as a way of living, not a skill to master.
Therese’s background as a licensed professional counselor (PA #PC006601) and her deep respect for both nature and creativity shape the studio’s approach to wellness. Her workshops and retreats honor the idea that healing doesn’t just happen in therapy sessions; it happens in motion, in conversation, and in community.
At Roots to Branches Soul Studio, mindfulness becomes a bridge between your inner and outer worlds. It’s found in art supplies scattered on a table, in journal pages filled with reflection, in yoga poses under a soft light, and in quiet walks among trees.
You don’t need experience with yoga, meditation, or art to participate, just an openness to explore and a willingness to be present.
